IGDA Helsinki Hub Volunteer work

I started as a volunteer in the IGDA Helsinki Hub in March 2023. In addition to doing general volunteer work (e.g. attendee registration, moderating chat corner) at the monthly IGDA Helsinki Meetups, I am a part of the Communications team. I write and schedule social media posts and newsletters using SoMe tools such as Mailchimp and Hootsuite. I've also participated in meetings with other IGDA Finland Hubs discussing IGDA Finland's future strategy and vision.​

Role(s) and responsibilities

Communications

  • Discussing with the Helsinki Hub coordinators in order to get all necessary information regarding the Meetups, for example seminar topics and speaker bios.

  • Planning and writing socal media posts and newsletters. 

  • Scheduling social media posts and newsletters using Hootsuite and Mailchimp.

General volunteering

  • Help with all activities at the monthly Meetups, for example attendee registration, moderation of chat corner, setting up banners and equipment.
